The site is in on a gradually sloped street in a neighborhood setting close to downtown Homer, between East End Rd. and Beluga Lake. The full lake and adjacent Beluga Slough are visible from the house's Main Level, and Kachemak Bay beyond can be seen from the Master Bedroom above. From the small windows in the Bedrooms, closets and Bath there are vignette views of East Skyline Hill to the north. Since the house is relatively close to the street, window sizing/placement on the street elevation is with an eye to privacy. The lowermost level could be converted to a separate living unit in the future. The carport design takes advantage of locally milled lumber and timber framing expertise. Wood siding and trim also locally sourced.
